Chappelli three speed bikes use Sturmey Archer hubs which have been around for decades and are not only highly reliable, but robust and require much less maintenance than traditional deraileur bikes. The 3 speeds give you enough gears range to cover most rolling hills and gradual inclines that you find in city riding and the sealed internal hub protects the gears from rust, dirt and knocks. We’ve been riding ours around the hilly streets of Sydney and love them.
